Idle Air
I have replaced the idle air control twice on a 99 Ford Escort and check engine light is still coming back on?
The car has a really high idle when I start it and after replacing it recently it runs even worse. I'm still getting the same codes for the iac. Any ideas what the problem could be.
The problem seems to be the idle control valve is faulty or needs cleaning. This valve opens as you accelerate, and closes to tickover speed when you are stationary, so it seems that this valve is not closing properly.
