Battery cable replacement question?
'89 Dodge Caravan; the negative battery cable is rotted & broke off. It's in a wiring harness, which costs $1,600 plus labor. Can I just take it off & put a new cable on the battery terminal & bolt the other end to the chassis? There's 2 other black wires on it & I don't know where they go because they're also wrapped up in the harness & disappear under the engine someplace.
Yes you can. But if it were me i would undo the cover far enough back to get to enough wire and crimp/soldier the cable with another piece and if need to spice the other two in there as well.
